grp 4 axle half shaft diameter? and does anyone happen to have any 18t atlas side gears for sale?!

does anyone happen to know if the grp 4 spec atlas half shafts (the ones with 18splines) are the same diameter as the standard 16 spline capri half shafts?

i'm looking to get new side gears at the moment for my standard open diff, and just looking to make sure that new gears would allow the new half shafts to fit
the opening in the end of the diff carrier is only the same diameter as the original shaft. i was always uunder the impression the 18 spline shafts with a larger diameter.

yes, i could go for LSD, but i don't want another bad trip.. erm, i mean, they're too expensive for me just now....

ooooh, on the subject, does anyone have any 18 spline side gears for sale. slim chance, i know...
