Leaking Nipples ......

... unfortunately not the type we would like to see leaking (fnarr fnarr)!

Is there any reason why fluid should still come through the bleed nipple even when its tight? They are new nipples fitted to standard sierra front calipers.

The calipers have been overhauled with a new o-ring kit fitted. Not sure if am missing something obvious?

Cheers,

Chris.

not unless there is a fault somewhere.

check that they are leaking - after bleeding and if they are pointing upwards, you will get fluid in the drilled hole - use a tissue rolled up into a point to dry the fluid up.

otherwise it is one or more of the following:
1. caliper/nipple cone angle incomaptible, damaged or worn
2. nipple not done up tight enough or thread bound i.e. the hex nut part is right against the caliper not allowing to tighten up further
3. some other reason

Nipples come in long and short varieties -- a long shot could be you have the wrong type.
