Cortina hub nut thread?
Just thought I'd move this question out of the 'Wanted' section, to some place where people may know the answer...
Can anyone tell me the thread size and type for Cortina front hub nuts?
I've heard rumours that it's 5/8" UNF, but official confirmation would be good!
cheers,
David

yeah well that's what I was wondering too considering all the other threads were metric.

Could be - I'm just being lazy and trying to avoid having to take a wheel and bearing cap off!
I hope they are metric - would make life much easier...

Very kind - but don't go and spend too much time on it - I am being lazy after all!

I have just measured it at a touch below 16mm and 18 tpi, which would make it 5/8 unf.
Maybe someone else can confirm this.
Seems strange that this is not metric.

My car has a crossflow engine (imperial) and a type 9 gearbox (metric) so I just take what comes with old Ford stuff!
Thanks Lars.
