285mm brake discs, ford fit

Building myself some better brakes and looking for a 285mm disc that will fit the back of mk2 escort hub, I've been looking on some brake websites and sifting through hundreds of stock options but can anyone tell me what will fit?? I know rally design do a disc but they are near 150 lid a pair with vat and p&p, surely there is a stock item that will fit?? I have to make caliper brackets so the disc depth isn't that important as I can make to suit. Dont want face mounted discs as the arches are rolled as is and cant extend the wheel out any further.
Many Thanks

Craigorypeck,

Please take a look at the link below:

Did a lot of work on this myself and came up with the following solution for the Cortina Mk5 hub. Thats my front set up.

If the Escort hub is similar, go for this option, if its more like the siera, i think 2wd cosworth ones may be of interest.

Hi Rob, I have mk2escort/capri hubs, the pcd at the rear of the hub for locating disc is 92.46mm a bit rare... just read through your post, good info there, what mods did you make to the 406 disc? I presume the bolt holes needed reboring? did the centre need machining out?? I'm trying to find something that doesn't require much machining or work done. I wonder are the wilwood and other makes of big brake kits have their discs specially made or are they a stock part from standard car? I'm using 2wd cosworth 4 pot calipers.

My 406 disc bolts to the back of the cortina hub, the cortina is the same as the Capri? Yes? I have a set of Capri V6 vented discs that bolt to my cortina hubs...

Any way, yes, I redrilled the holes on the disc using the hub to Mark the disc, the just used my pilar drill. Holes are completly different. I also had to grind a bit off the disc centre too, about 3mm all around, discs have a chanfer which means its fairly easy to grind with a die grinder, maybe when I do the real ones I'll machine the hub its self, would be a better job, but as that's just a mock, I bodged it. Could have it done properly at work.

I'd use the Apex online catalogue, it's really good for finding discs and what they came off, that's how I found the pug 406 disc.... You can just type the size, thickness and offset and you'll get a load of options it could be. Then just get a old used one to see if it's any good before investing in some new ones.

I managed to bag a set of 285 discs on ebay which I presume are willwood discs for ford hubs, cheap and no machining needed. will break by entire budget of 100 lids by about 15 quid, but its the postage to ireland from uk for calipers/discs thats done that, still happy tho. thanks for pointers!
