Anti roll bar

I'm in the process of making a front anti roll bar for my car. Do the kits available of the shelf mount onto the lower wishbone using the shocker mount. If so do they use a special bolt of just a rose joint of the same diameter as the shock mounting bolt.

I hope that makes sense ?

I don't see any problem sharing the shocker bolt, and a rose joint would be fine, too. Alternatively, you could bush your joints.

There's a few pics on this thread:

I don't think clamping to the lower wishbone leg is a good idea, unless the bar is light, and the wishbone quite sturdy.

You don't need a rod end anywhere near the size of the bottom shock bolt though (1/2"?), and it will probably cost you £20 per joint minimum.
You could do like Westfield do, and make up a little bracket that bolts onto the shock mount like this

or just weld on a little lug directly onto the bottom wishbone

.........................or, if you have 1/2" wishbone bolts, machine some new bolts from 3/4" EN24T hex bar, with a "normal" shocker bolt and a protrusion from the centre of it's head stepped to take a 3/8 or 5/16" rose joint and either threaded for a retaining nut or drilled and tapped for a retaining bolt.

Hmm, Westfield sells their kit for £236. I'll bet if someone offered a kit for Locosts for under £150 they'd do a big business.
