Wrong way round i am afraid.

The accepted direction for the grooves is the other way around. The grooves will cut your pads away quickly if you leave them that way round. Though the brakes will still work!

Ours are stamped N/S Front and O/S Front. As are the rears (obviously Rear N/S and Rear O/S)

Thats quite interesting. If you also think of the grooves as throwing dirt/water etc toward the outside of the disc then they should be backward facing....

And I have been told by many people over the past few years that the grooves should be backward facing for the reasons above (water/crap dispersion and cutting the pads)

I cant argue with the brakes suppliers though can i? LOL

OFFSIDE (DRIVERS SIDE) FRONT

(Front of Car on the right of picture)

Fitted in the direction instructed by the EBC notes.

Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a
car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes
and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

ebc groovies are marked left and right and come with a picture in the fitting notes showing the grooves must be going / toward pads not \.

i like to call it the "krull" effect

but then, i am battered.

night night

The direction of the disc will bepend on how the grooves have been designed.

usually grooves are there to deglaze the pad and as such go the 'cutting' way although some are desgned for looks IMO and as such go with the grooves sweeping backwards.

My Tar-rox ones go the same way as hellfires and I will be fitting the rear ones the same purely for looks

Mr D
looking at the disc closelly you can see that the grooves do not go all the way to the edge, so their primery function must be de-glazing IMO.

I actually ran my tarrox brakes both ways round as I didn't beleive they went that way..... and I never noticed any difference.

the pic of the ebc disc is for the curved grooves so acording to the ap web site thats correct.

Its the straight grooves that seem to go against common sense
