There is a wider Capri English axle available. Not sure of the exact width but is wider than the Escort; 50" seems to ring a bell. There was a
discussion on the forum a couple of months ago, and saw one for sale on ebay a few weeks ago.

not too bad but not as easy as the English! (which I guess is exactly what you already knew!)
I have the ford "Boreham Bible" and I can probably scan in the appropriate pages if that will help at all.

Pretty sure some Mk2 & Mk3 1300 (and 1600 ?) Capris had the english axle , used to service a Blue T reg (78) 1300 with an english axle.
The Mk3 Zephry/Zodiac would have a wide English axle --- rare or what.
