de dion mounts

ive made a de dion axle. now ive been looking at mounting it on my track car.
but do the rods have to be parralle. or is it possilbe to mount the top arm parralle
and the bottom one mounted towards the top one. would this have any affect cus i cant see what diff it would make but you lot no best.

golden rule seems to be equal length rods (i.e. parallel)
If not, the arc done by the top rod will be different than the arc done on the bottom one (the bottom one being larger as u describe it), therefore rotating the axle in droop or compression, therefore really bad handling...

Spot on, if your careful with your measurements you could use this to your advantage in order to induce some rear wheel steering or more negative camber/toe in or all 3! But when I looked at it, it involved alot of sums and I'm lazy like that so we just kept them parallel. Oli.

Are you running bushes or rose joints? If bushes you might find they bind a bit as well.
