Fuel Tank Position Problem (fuel outlet close to axle)!!

Hi folks,

I have a problem with the position of my fuel tank in the fact that as it currently sits on the lower chassis rails at the rear of my car (as in the book) and I have a de dion axle which is very close to and could potentially get in the way of the fuel outlet of the tank.

Has anybody else had this problem and if so, what have they done to solve it?

The one idea I had was to make another platform for the tank and raise it above the axle.

Cheers,

Matt

My fuel outlet is a bit of steel tube that comes into the tank from the top, the end stops at the bottom of the tank.

If you do this you need to cut a V in the end of the tube to ensure any rubbish never blocks the pipe.

Then just block off the bottom outlet.
