flexi brake pipes

Can I use rubber petrol pipe between my brake fluid reservoir and the master cylinder. Will it be ok with brake fluid?

Unfortunately no, for SVA it needs to be properly marked as suitable for brake fluid. Fuel pipe is also "porous" when used for brake fluid.

I found Think Automotive in Isleworth, had what I needed, some have found a Fiat part fitted but they wern't big enough bore for mine.

suggest some fuel hoses are, some aren't....

either way Mr SVA won't be happy....

True - brake fluid is really quite unpleasant stuff: inflammable, melts paint, mucks up some forms of rubber, and so on.

You just have to use the proper stuff, else you'll end up with leaks (or worse).

u2u Russ Bost.
He does braided hoses very cheaply, with all of the unions etc.

The correct pipe will probably have a blue inner liner and a cotton outer braid. As already said, fuel pipe will 'sweat' and you will end up with brake fluid everywhere in a few weeks.

Hey Stu,
i've had the same dilemma, as my 10mm fuel hose supplied won't really be upto the job!
i did buy some small fuel hose, but looks like i'm gona have to change it.
this from merlin should be fine, can also get a letter of compliance

That is perfect John, cheers for that.

I did ring Rally Design on Friday as I seem to remember someone on here saying they got some from them but they didn't know what I was going on about

rally design can't supply the letter of conformity and it doesn't have markings on. I asked them, although it is from Girling in the states so they assure me it will be ok.

except mr SVA won't take that assurance. Anyway, i've got my source i just need to pop round and see him sometime.
