Pinto Fuel Pump
Managed to finally get the car started today, but found out I am missing the pushrod that goes behind the fuel pump. Anyone know where I can get one
from? I have made one up for now from tempered steel but I want to get a proper one fitted for peace of mind.
Thanks.

Have you also got the plastic diamond shaped plastic thermal spacer that goes between the pump and block with the 2 bolts through? If you havent it
may cause you to bend your shiny new pushrod.... Just a thought mate.
Cheers

Yep, I've got that Rich. I used an old hardened boring bit shaft for now but do not trust it to last forever so want to get the real Mcoy.

IMO forget ! the mechanical pump 'thing' and Spend Large for an electric one.. It's not like they cost very much at all.

A valve stem did my fuel pump for years on the pinto. Right diameter, easy to cut to length and suitable material. Looked unworn when I sold the
engine. And the mechanical pump is simple, reliable, cheap, effective up to 150 bhp plus, needs no wiring or pressure regulator, feeds twin 45's
easily and beats a leccy one hands down anyday IMO.

Thanks Dusty. Looks like I'll see if I've got a spare valve kicking around
