Cortina/Sierra steering rack

Can anyone tell me if the sierra rack is longer or shorter than the Cortina rack. Reason is my Tiger is fitted with the Cortina rack and its pish.

They are *about* the same as the 2 cars have the same track.

However, the mounts are totally different width so you'd need to chop the Sierra rack to get the mounts inside the car and then extend the track rods to compensate- the way that MK do with the Indy.

Also, the mounts are totally different so you'd need a fair amount of changes to mount it.

Having said this, is that really the way to fix the problem? The Cortina is just a +4" Escort rack isn't it(?) and the Escort gets few complaints. Would refurbing the current one or fitting a quick rack not be the correct way to fix it?

Hope that helps,
James
