F27 rear suspension

First question relating to the build of this F27 wide body.
Rear upright.
Conventional mounting of the upright to the wish bones would be threaded bar into wishbone bushed tube giving some adjustment.
Would it be viable to rose joint all 4 mounting points on the upright?
I have seen some mixed mounting but have not come across a fully rose jointed upright.
Any advice would be gratefully excepted thanks.

Don't see a problem with that.

IRS Fury used (4) 1/2" rod ends on the lower wishbone & (3) on the top wishbone.

Certainly makes for lots of adjustment if the chassis is not 100% accurate and square

Would 4 half inch rose joints be sufficient and strong enough to mount the upright.

i saw somewhere (think it was the trackstore.co.uk website years ago) they considered 1/2" rose joints to be the minimum you should use. for racing at least.

on my car, the rose joinds for all suspension are 5/8" threaded, with a 1/2" hole for the bolts. thats when i would go for persoanlly.

1/2" are overkill in some applications - one of the hillclimber's single seater uses 1/4" bolts in spherical bearings on his wishbones

[OK - his car only weighs 200Kg but does have about 200bhp and runs sticky slicks]

I have an f27 wide body and it has rose joints on the rear u prightsto give adjustability. Pretty easy to set up. I can get you pictures and maybe a copy of the plans it was built from if helpful.

I don't know the details of the F27 with IRS but 4 rose joints at the upright end of a wishbone system has the potential to cause problems.

Essentially a rear double wishbone setup is the same as a front double wishbone suspension, ie: Upper and lower "A" arms and link to control wheel toe.
If you add an extra link he link is redundant.

Rear upright rose jointed.

Well going for rose joints on all 4 corners of the rear up right 1/2 unf.
What do you think!
