bold size english axle to prop shaft.
Does anybody know what size bolt i need to bolt the prop shaft to the diff on an english axle?

Some googeling makes me think its 5 16" for the small flange
|

Have now fitted the bolts and on my diff. The bolts that fitted are one size larger than 5/16 UNF. Unfortunately I am pants with imperial measurement
so im sure some one will tell me shortly what size it is.
Made one hell of a clatter when the prop came off the diff.

That would be 3/8 UNF then

Thanks, If its not metric I just don't understand. Is there a bolt size chart some where that can be sued for reference

There will be loads, just google imperial thread sizes.
I'm just at that age that I cut my teeth on imperials, but foolishly sold off my imperial tools about 15 years ago, then bought an MGB, followed
by an old Jag, so its all coming back.
