Westfield / locost chassis for MT75
Right, now that I've got the Westie SE nicely settled in the garage, I have a whole bunch of questions. I'll start a build blog/thread but
will post separate threads for each question to make it easier for people to search in the future.
So..
I've got a MT75 box for my blacktop. Does anybody have the dimensions or measurements for what mods to make to the standard chassis to
accommodate it?
I really really don't want to narrow the driver's footwell if at all possible, although I could probably find an inch (definitely not more
as the clutch pedal will be in the way).
1) Where and how far do I need to widen the tunnel? Is it just the front uprights that need spacing out, or do I need to move the two top front tunnel
tubes (the tapering ones) and the second set of uprights as well?
2) Is it possible to offset the engine and gearbox to the passenger side by a couple of inches? What implications does this have for the prop?
It's not a bad idea other than that as it'll make routing the steering a bit easier and will actually help with side to side weight
distribution with me in the car.
Given how little space I have in the garage and that I have a fixed electric hoist, it's not very easy for me to play around with the gearbox
position, hence why I'm asking for the mods/dimensions on here.
*ETA just realised I posted this in the wrong section. Should be in chassis. If someone could move it, thanks!

Wouldn't these questions be better on the Westfield forum?

Quite possibly, I just haven't got round to registering there yet, and given that my Westfield is much more related to a locost design than to
any newer IRS Westfields, I reckon there's more expertise on this forum
