Steering Pinion retaining nut

Before I beat he'll out of it, is there a trick or special tool needed to get the pinion out
Can't even move the nut.

They normally crimped in once the preload is set.

I made a tool from a piece 3mm strip steel wth a hole in the centre. I used 4 roll pins around it at the right pcd for the slots in the nut. Worked a treat.
