Identify a Sierra engine?

hi

someone was interested in sell me a Sierra 1.6 Sation and when I thought I will see a Pinto engine I saw an engine that I never saw before.

I must confess I didn't see yet a Ford Sierra with this kind of engine I show in picture.

someone can help me to identify that engine and its specifications and advise if it worths the buy? is that better or worse than a 1.6 Pinto?

thank you in advance.

Amadeu

Yup, it's a CVH. Think these used to be popular in early Westfields....

1.6 cvh and that looks like a cfi with the single point injection and cat along with egr.

Thats of no use in a kitcar, If you really want a cvh then look for a xr2 / xr3 spec cvh.

If you need a 1.6 for insurance or other reasons then pick up a 16v lump.
k series
zetec e
zeetc se

They can all be made to bolt to T9 that is behind that cvh. The 1.6 sump wont fit the zetec but the starter will.

Don't think so , the 1.8 had the distributor cam mounted on the timing cover , the rotor arm was driven directly from the cam
Can't remember ever seeing a 1.6 CVH in a Sierra , perhaps it was not available in the UK?

for now, many thanks to all for helpping.

the papers of the car say it has 1599cc. and this engine capacity does not appear in any site.

what power does this motor have? and what must be its value? (££££)

I'm running a 1600 cvh in my Westy, alibeit an XR2 rather than Sierra unit.

With twin weber 40's and no other mods (that I'm aware of, at least) it was rolling roaded at 116bhp.
