Fuel Sender Float Position
I'm fitting a Smiths fuel sender into a small fuel tank. Its the standard float on an arm type.
Space is quite tight and the only way I can position the float when I have the arm setup for the tank height is right under the filler neck.
Is this OK or is the battering subjected by the float when filling up likely to break something?
I did think about bending the arm through 90 degrees to move it away from the filler but then I lose the adjustment of moving the float up and down
the arm.

Mines under the filler neck. Not noticed any issues.
I'd imagine it gets a battering when driving anyway so sure it's up to it.

Hi Chris
Wouldnt worry about it if i was you, firstly you know its there so dont aim the pipe at it and secondly by the time youve bent and rebent to get
accurate readings youll be happy with it anywhere !!
If its any consolation ive spent 2hrs trying to fit the clip that holds my clutch pipe in the g/box housing this aft and still havent done it !!!!

Thanks to you both for your responses.
It seemed it would end up directly under the filler but once I fitted it and looked down the filler I think its not too bad and the fuel would tend to
flow down the angled edge of the tank.
