For those considering a wheel swap...

....this site has a handy list of manufacturers, models and their relevant wheel PCDs, offsets and Centre Bore sizes. I've already noticed that Saab 900s (1988-1992) and 9000s have the same PCD as Fords with damn near the same centre bore and offset, and they fitted some nice cross spoke alloys as standard as well.........

Follow up, Volvo 850s have 108PCD, 65mm centre bore, 35-38mm offset, nice!
Anyone think that 1.2mm difference in centre bore will have catastrophic consequences?

Not too much of a problem if the centre bore is 1.2mm under the size you require; just have the bores machined out to the correct fit.
It's not good practice to support the wheels on just the studs/taper seat nuts, though there are manufacturers who do this. If the wheels originally fitted to the hubs you are using relied on the centre bore to centralise the wheel then I suggest you follow suit.
If, however, the original wheels were supported on just the studs and nuts, then, though I must swallow hard, I would say it wouldn't matter if the centre bore is slightly larger than the hub spigot. Nasty though.

I am using Peugeot wheels on my Ford hubs on my Locost and will be machining up some (rahter thin!) spacer rings to araldite into the wheels to locate them properly on the hubs.

I meant to say in my previous post; if the centre bore is oversize, you should really machine out the centre to accept one of the centre bore rings of the correct size (most wheel stockists sell them). Better than relying on just the wheel studs and nuts.
