Sierra 4x4 uprights - can I use them?

Hi,

I have got a 4x4 Sierra for a donor and was wondering if I can use the front uprights including brakes etc instead of a standard sierra item? I am building a Luego Velocity XT which is designed to be used with the standard sierra items. Any ideas?

They are different and as the kit you are using is for normal sierra stuff use normal sierra stuff.

Yep - they're different!

You've got a pich bolt arrangement to accept the lower balljoint instead of a tapered hole and I think the Kpi is different to the 2WD ones - Liam knows for sure as he's using them - I've just seen his!

So I would keep the 4WD calipers and brakes and use the 2WD uprights - can get you some if you get stuck!

The later sierra uprights went over to pinch bolt away from the castle nut arrangement anyway.

Its been mentioned on interford that the 4x4 tca length may be differnt to 2wd concerning the camber.

The main difference is the strut diameter. They are thicker on 4x4's so your alloy mushroom will have to be larger in diameter.
