Suspension update - phew !
continuing my thread on suspension tuning on my tiger cat
Well, I spent a long time in the garage this weekend armed with a pace camber / caster gauge, an ADA camber caster gauge (long story, bid on both on
ebay hoping to just win one but won both !),spirit level, tape measure, calculator, gunson "trackrite" rollover toe gauge and a box of
shims of various sizes.
the results
Front nearside:
camber: 1.25 degrees negative
toe: 1.5 degrees toe in
caster 4.75 degrees positive
Front Offside:
camber: 1 degrees negative
toe: 1.5 degrees toe in
caster 4.75 degrees positive
Rear nearside:
camber: 1.30 degrees negative
toe: 1 degrees toe in
Rear offside:
camber: 1.25 degrees negative
toe: 1 degrees toe in
Very pleased with the results, car feels much more "planted" now.
Rear camber and toe achieved with shims between the hub carrier and the trailing arm.
Caster achieved by shimming the lower suspension arm to give more positive camber.
Just thinking about taking it to a lazer alignment place just to see how well I actually did !

You probably wouldn't have got as good results at the fancy laser alignment place.
You took the time and did it properly.

Sounds like you did a great job - would be interesting the difference to an unmeasured one?
