m/c to remote resovoir adapter

I've just been on the phone to think automotive and amongst other things I asked for adpaters to go into the holes in the mastercylinders so I can attach brake hose to the remote resovoirs. I understood from one of NS Dev's posts that girling/wilwood (american) master cylinders had 3/8" threads in them, but the guy at think auto said they only supply adapters for 7/16" which sounds a bit on the large side to me as that's the size i use for my seat belt mounts!!

can anyone tell me what they used/asked for and where they got it? yes i did get the blue/purple cotton braided brake fluid resistent hose aswell..

cheers,

Ned.

Hi Ned,

if you look at this page:

[url=http://www.wilwood.com/Products/006-MasterCylinders/004-CRRMC/index.asp]http://www.wilwood.com/Products/006-MasterCylinders/004-CRRMC/index.asp[/ url]

the non integral master cylinders have an inlet of 7/16" (20t.p.i.) and an outlet of 3/8" (24t.p.i). that's according to the drawing on that page.

I'm after some hose and adapters to go from the reservoir to the master cylinders too.... Where did you get the SVA freindly hose from?

Cheers
Andy

i just ordered the hose from think automotive, its the only stuff they do suitable for brake fluid, i guess i'll just hold onto the packet (assumig it has one) for sva or get a letter fro them with it's specs on nearer the time..

just been reading this old thread following a search:
http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=20390
and europa only list a 7/16"unf one aswell..

The Europa hose isn't marked up correctly so will not pass SVA . The Think Automotive hose is marked up with what I hope is the correct part no / spec , certainly looks like the hose that is used by Audi amongst other manufacturers with a blue braided cover
