Tyre Pressures

So

Was wondering how you decide whats the best tyre pressures to run with?
175x13 front and 185x13 rear on old RS alloys
The Escort book says 27 and 25..... but that weight a zillion tonnes.. Any ideas guys?

I'm using 18psi in my 185x70 on 5.5"x13" wheels. Don't know if this is ideal, but it seems to work OK and there no signs of uneven wear yet.

I run 185/70/13s and use 21 psi front and 20 rear .
