rust
my sierra track rod ends and track rods are starting to rust. The car isn't even fully built yet! I thought as they were black that the
"paint" would stop this.
What is the best stuff to use to paint them with to stop them rusting?

Depending on the application I used spray cans of Plasticoat or Homebase black gloss from a tin.

Plastikote hets my vote too - easy to use and seems to give a good durable finish.
I have found that a bit of heat helps cure the paint better - I have a gas heater in the garage which I hang painted bits over (not while painting
though) to dry.

My vote as well, it's brilliant stuff. If you wash the part in acetone, then heat it up nicely and spray the plastikote on with the part hot, it
seems nearly as durable as powder coating.

ive been using "hammerite straight to rust" goes perfectly onto rust but needs 2 coats on bare metal. bizzarre!
not sure on the durability though, have to wait and see.
