HELP - clutch cable problems

Connected up my clutch cable tonight on my R1 Indy. All adjusted up and worked fine for the first few pushes on the pedal but then became notchy and made graunching noise. Had the cable made up by a bike shop to suit. Also when the pedal is pressed the cable outer goes very stiff. Have installed a Barnett pressure plate in the clutch. Cable inner is about 3mm - is it too weedy to handle the uprated plate.
Any suggestions for a cable that can do the business?

Are you sure you haven't knackered the clutch by having too much cable movement ?

No - sussed problem - poor quality cable. Operates clutch fine when cable is pulled by hand in a straight line but stiffens up when trying to route it to the clutch pedal even with a gentle curve. Popped to see Chris at Z-Cars and he is getting his cable guy to make something far better up
