Tyre Load Index

Just wondering if the load index relates to the load per wheel or the entire mass of the car?

i.e. If it's a V at a load index of 425kgs, is that (say the car weighs 500kgs) 425kgs per wheel or 425kgs in total? ie 425 / 4 ? 106.25kgs per wheel?

Ta,

Chris.

425kg per tyre. Remember that tyres are designed for normal cars. there aren't many that weigh less than 425kg!
