what width tyre for a 6" rim?
speedo reading/gearing/tyre circumference/ride height irrelevant as for track use.
looking for maximum traction and grip without flexing side walls etc.
thinking of 185/55 or 195/45 at the moment but concerned the 195 will be a bit too wide and bulging from the rim, but lower profile so may still be
stiff enough? no good if its going to be slopping about on the rim though.
Anyone running either of these widths (not nessarily profile) on 6" rims?
cheers,
Ned.

Hey Ned, check out this site...
http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible.html
loads of fascinating (really!) info about tyres and wheels and appropriate sizes and stuff. Somewhere on that page is a calculator for working out
tyre vs rim width and what'll fit.

read that last night, I know people have used both the above size tyres on these size rims, just wondered if anyone had any experience on here.

very little in it Ned on a 6" rim.
185's are quite "pulled in" on a 6" rim and 195's look about squarish to the eye, but performance wise I doubt there
will be much in it.
