Chevette? Viva? Kadette?

Just guessing

Although there was a Chevette HSR or something which was quite a car if I remember rightly

Also Firenza/Magnum Etc

I guess it depends on engine also.

Sorry no help at all really.

Cheers

Mark

a carlton box has to be the easiest to find.

yep.

The only boxes that will fit direct to the XE engine are the manta 1800 box (preferable as it has a "normal" push in propshaft like the ford type 9, and the carlton (1987 onwards) 1800 and 2.0 box. Th bigger carltons used the CIH type engine, the 6 cyl version of the 2.0 manta engine, and similar to the frontera 2.4 engine and carlton 2.3 diesel engines. These are totally different and no good at all.

The internals from the manta GTE (2.0) box will fit in the 1800 one (they are identical apart from the front casing)

Any more questions feel free to ask, I am a long serving manta owners club oracle!!!!
