Sierra diff - escort mk2 propshaft

I'm building my IRS and get a mk2 propshaft for free. The holes seems to match but the nut in the differential won't let the propshaft contact the differential flange. I think i should made an spacer for this.

Anybody with the same problem?

I believe most people get a new prop made to measure by a reputable company like Autoprop, ie correct parts to fit the job, then all ballanced to protect your legs !!
