Cortina back axle.

Afternoon chaps.

What are the differences between a cortina back axle and an escort one. Apart from them being wider track. Do the diff flanges sit further forward?

Axle tubes ar thicker walled but overall tube size is less.

Diff mounts differently as well.

A friend swapped his 3.54 escort axle straight out for a capri 3.09 LSD one in his Fury. No change in prop or out else. Only issue was his tyres then sat slighltly proud of the body.

He's now looking to put an escort 3.54 back in so if anyone has one and wants to swap, let me know.
