sizes of brake master cylinders

I've done a search and can't find an answer.

What sizes of brake master cylinders should i buy?

.625 and ???????? (.7 or .75 i'm guessing)

Got a crossflow engined seven with escort rear axle (9" drums) if it makes a difference.

I have 0.625 front and rear, but that's with raceleda 4 pot fronts and sierra rear calipers.

not sure whether I should have gone for 0.7 rear or whether the balance bar will sort it ok.

I have used 0.625 both ends in the past a fair few times.

Try 0.7" back and front, that way if the balance bar ends up off centre you have more choice to get it back near the centre by swapping cylinders.

ok, but i know the rear will be over braked by the 9" drums so i think i'm going .625 and .7 which seems to be what Luego do (as in a friend remembers one being bigger than the other but not by how much!)

just wondering that Dave! Were the cyls piped to the wrong ends?

Doubt that with you! but hope so or I have no chance with my .625's each end!

well the final version of the engine mounts are going in as i type (or they would be except i ran out of welding wire, currently got a 5kg reel sat in my lap)

radiator mounts perfect

got all the wiring loom / electrics

need to get a pipe to link my silencer to manifold tomorrow (once mounts finished)

basically i've pretty much got everything or deals with people (roll bar) to complete the car apart from body work.

bound to have missed a 1000 things but i'm really motivated at the moment and enjoying working on it. Give it a few weeks and i'll get disheartened.

might even try and make a south brum meeting as its getting nice and summery.

Sorry Dave, nice try but she already knows me!

And something tells me given the choice between going dancing or coming out with me to a pub to meet some hairy car building blokes ...... dancing will win.

you're not the only one, got my Sean Connory mask and tux ready (for the 007 Ball obviously).

New gearbox mount in (finally) 4 hours later i think i might have sorted out the link pipe between manifold and exhaust, off to custom chrome tomorrow, peddle box has arrived - another job for tomorrow, lounge is covered in wiring loom

For one pipe it's not worth the journey to banbury, but SDW fab are prob 40% cheaper than Custom Chrome if my visit was anything to go by!

well the price of 15 quid seemed reasonable for 18" pipe, flared both ends with a bend strategically placed.

shame its taken me hours to figure out where the strategic bend needs to go

(you've no idea how miffed i've got this afternoon / evening trying to figure out out. still not 100% happy and going to give it another go tomorrow before i go and see them. Pretty sure its between 7 and 10 degrees ........ also now pretty sure its 8" from the exhaust and 7.5 inch from the manifold. i know, i'm being too picky about this)
