Value of Aluminium English diff nose and slipper diff?

Hi chaps

My uncle has an un-used (but not new - been sitting in the garage for a few years) cast ally English diff nose and plate LSD diff. Im not sure on the make of the LSD but assuming its something like a ZF or Tran X, how much do you reckon its worth? There's no CWP, just the LSD internals and the nose.

Once I know the info on the LSD it will go in For Sale, but at the moment Im just gauging how much it might be worth?

cheers

Chris

If its plate LSD it is likely to be a Salsbury was the standard when the english axle in its prime.

Think the diff carriers are about £150 new -- try googling the Lotus Cortina spares sites.

Cheers, I think they are more than that though, Ive just had a hunt around and the only places I can find new ali diff noses is £470 at Burton, or nearly £400 at Tony Thompson. I tried googling but couldnt find anywhere else with them?

Also, its not a second hand one from an original Lotus, from what I understand it was all bought brand new a few years ago and built up as a spare for a race Lotus Cortina but never used.

LSD's go for anywhere between £250 - £400 on eBay. Lowest prices are for plate type diff's with the ATB units fetching the higher prices.

No idea on the Alu' nose.

The carrier will almost certainly be a flowtech racing one, they went bust a while back I think but used to make some cracking stuff.

Can't remember how much they used to charge though!! £250 rings a bell.

I'd have guessed you would be looking at around £450 for the lsd unit and the carrier.
