ADVICE - ALLOY GRADE
Hi,
I'm looking to make an adaptor for some brake calipers.
I'm running standard Sierra hubs and have some nice little two-pot calipers to put on.
I know Willwood etc make these adapators - but what grade Alloy should I use?
I have access to CNC machines etc.
Regards,
Murray

I would use steel instead of ali. They will be quite small so no punish for the heavier steel bracket.

6082T6 which is HE30 or 2014AT6 which is HE15TF if you can get it

Two of the strongest ali alloys are 2014T6 and 7075T6. Both of which are stronger than mild steel, but neither are weldable.

Thanks guys
New people on here would be able to help
Hopefully, I wont need to weld it - I might make the template in a lesser quality alloy that can be welded (helps rectify mistakes quickly) and then
once I have a template make the finals in 'proper' grade
Thanks again to everybody that posted
