drop links using nylon bar

hi a friend of mine has made his drop links using nylon bar for the buses is this a good idea. or is rubber the thing to use he says he hasnt had a problem.but wont nylon be to hard

I hope not most my bushes are black nylon! They will be firm but less so than rose joints!
