ST pedal box, attaching clutch cable...?
I'm just starting work on the pedal box on my r1 powered st with st pedal box. I'm going to use the original r1 clutch cable but was
wondering what is the best way of attaching the cable to pedal? Also will i need to incorporate an adjuster into the outer cable stop? I've got
a few ideas but was wondering how everyone else has done it, any pics would be very much appreciated...

Cheers, but i was more interested in what method peolple have used to attach it to the pedal, and, the outer cable stop. hopefully i can get away with
using the original clutch cable...

If your pedal box is like my (5 year old) ST pedal box, then it simply has a hole in it, in which case Id get a cable with a ring or clevis on the end
so you can put a pin through the hole and connect it that way, it will be far easier than using the R1 cable, and stronger too.
The one above is like mine, IIRC its off a Mk3 Escort so a few quid from a factors. Chop it down to length using the adjuster on the clutch end, then
solder a nipple on the clutch end and bob's your uncle.
BTW, have you turned the clutch actuator arm around on its splines so you only need a ~50cm cable rather than looping it round to pickup in the stock
location?

No i haven't turned the arm round but it was something i was thinking about doing.. Is it best to drill the hole as close to the pivot point as
possible to gain a longer pedal movement or is it a case of just experimenting?
You haven't got any pics have you by any chance?

I dont have any pics Im afraid, but you should be able to work it out.
If I remember correctly you need ~15mm of cable travel to disengage the clutch fully, and with that you should be able to work out how far away the
hole needs to be from the pivot to give you the correct pull before hitting a pedal stop.
Ask in the BEC section about the travel though as Im not 100% sure 15mm is correct.
