Viento Clutch binding

Hi All

Today when I actually got to drive around for a bit I started getting a sticking clutch pedal. Whilest pushing it in it would click and then take a moment to "pop" forward again but this got to the point where it wouldn't come forward. I had to press and released (the bound) pedal several time to persuade it to come forward again (great at a roundabout!)

The push rod clevis is not binding and the bottom "rail" that the pedal pivots on is free also, plenty of clutch fluid in the cylindar and it all works fine apart from the binding... Any suggestions anyone?

Thanks

Mark

"o" ring inside the master cylinder?

Is the clutch mechanisim free to return as some hydraulic clutchs need the prssure in the slave cylinder spring to force fluid back to the master cylinder. If you pull back the clutch lever you may draw fluid from the reservoir and then the whole system can become full of fluid and the clutch wont release. But as you say its all working fine apsrt fromthe return of the pedal.

If thats not the cause

It souds as if the Oring in the master cylinder is binding. This could also be one in the slave cylinder, if its a long time since it was driven, the seals can degrade and stick in the cylinder.
I have heard of this being bad if you use the wrong type of fluid for the type of O ring. Some like synthetic and some like organic fluid.

Thats my best guesses so far
