Converting to Non Servo

Hello all, in the process of building a series 3 robin hood and currently have the following brake set up:

Vented fronts
Std sierra callipers
10" rear drums
Sierra M/C with servo (3outlet)

I want to convert this to non servo as I fear it will be way overbraked as is. Can anyone shed some light on how to go about it using the standard pedal box?

i.e. what M/C to get, pushrod to use etc, also how to get the bias right so it doesn't lock the rear prematurely

Thanks for any help,
Stott

Don't get sucked in.

Servos don't make the brakes any better, they just make the pedal easier to press.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

As the RH is built with a zervo in mind I would stick with it. You will then manage the SVA braking test as you will have plenty of brakes with littel effort.

You could always change it after getting it on the road.

But I would ask the question with a RH site first..

yeah loads of the rh boys ditch the servo, and I fully understand the workings of the system, it's just for any given pedal pressure the resulting force on the brakes will be that much higher, I reckon the std servo is a bit much (10" diam huge thing)

Having driven a mates striker with a sierra m/c non servo, that being a much lighter car, I've decided to source a smaller servo and m/c / res from a lighter tin top and go with that.

PS my model of robin hood wasn't 'designed' at all

I would certainly ditch the servo and just get a smaller m/c. It makes for a lighter system with more feel.

can you suggest a m/c off a car i might find at the scrappys to go non servo?

I do have a 309 and a bx gti to break, I wonder if the 309 one would be any good as its the same as for a 205 i.e. a light car
