rolling radius
Hi all, apart from making the speedo inaccurate what is the effect of different rolling radius on the front and rear wheels.
Following from an other topic I plan on using 15" on the front and 17" on the rear and the lotus exige was mention to run 16" front
and 17" rear with different tyre profile to match the rolling radius.
However using the calculator at the bottom of http://www.torquecars.com/tuning/alloy-wheels.php, when I input the lotus tyre specs the rear wheel
has a 103.36mm larger rolling radius and therefore is not matched??
So is there any adverse effects as my rear wheel can be about 200mm if I use the same tyre profile?

is that 100mm on the circumference? Surely can't be the radius, can it??

The speedo only reads the speed of the wheels on the back axle, having a different size front to rear won't make it any different. If you have a
larger radius or circumference on the driven wheels or wherever the speedo reads from your reading will be low.

I suspect Lotus are matching side wall height rather than rolling radius
I would strongly advise against using 17" rims.

the car is a middy and it seems that the likes of radicals, lotus, etc. all have a larger rear wheel.
Iam only looking into the larger rear wheel for a cosmetic look of the car as the rear arch is such it make my 15" look small and out of
proportion.
But I would like to have the option of running a 17" at the rear if it was not to cause handling/ride
