Small Radiator for XE
Does anyone know what the smallest radiator size you can get away with on an XE engine is?

I would of thought it depended on what application it's being used for as much as which engine?
Is it for your Race/Sprint Car?

I'm thinking about ditching the side pods on my Formula Vauxhall Lotus single seater - this means that the rad will have to be relocated.
I had thought about putting a smaller rad under the bodywork behind the roll hoop. Obviously this limits the size, but does place the rad right smack
bang in the middle of high-pressure air flow.
The engine itself is dry-sumped, so that should take a bit of heat out of it, and the only mod is a mild set of QED cams.

hmmm tricky one that!!
I used an ex-formula vauxhall rad on my old grasser and that used to get very hot, but the rad was not really in the airflow (can't be as it
will get full of mud)
On my locost with the same engine I used a polo rad which is maybe a slightly bigger frontal area but thinner, and it stays very cool.
As a guess, I think you would need to keep pretty close to your existing formula vauxhall rad size in terms of frontal area.
Retro RWD is the way forward...........automotive fabrication, car restoration, sheetmetal work, engine conversion
retro car restoration and tuning
