before i Bid on some hubs!

Hey all,
before i bid on some hubs i'm after, i need to check they will be ok.

they are Mk1 escort 1300e, and the ad says 8.5" disc brakes, they are for my mnr cortina uprights.

my question is will i be limited with what size disc brakes i can run!? as i was going to fit some wilwood powerlite calipers.
cheers
john

I dont think escort hubs are compatible with cortina uprights even if they use the same braking components. The bearings are different.

Mnr cortina uprights use escort stub axels

it caught me out when i tried to fit my cortina hubs to them. like you say the spacing is different

so would these be ok then, as i've seen another set that say 9 1/2" disc brakes.
so i'm a bit confused!

have a look on www.brakeparts.co.uk it shows pics dimensions for mark one and mark 2 escort discs.I think you will be ok.

As long as the mounting surfaces are the same it wont matter how big the actual disc is.

The problem is not whether the Ecort disk will mount to the Cortina hub, but whether the entire Escort hub will fit a Cortina stub axle.
