Sierra front hubs
Anyone know if the flange bolts on the sierra front hubs are normal thread or reverse thread can't get the bastards orf

what do you mean by the flange bolts
the only left handed thread on mine was the large nut that adjusts the wheel bearings and only one of those is left hand you can tell by which colour
the nut is

do you mean the bolt that holds the hub onto the shocker? someone was moaning at me just yesterday that their mondeo ones had threadlock on them, and
were a torx thingy....
bad news i guess. i told him to weld a proper nut on.

Flange Bolts...
...normally nearside nut is left hand thread to prevent it from spinning off when driving forward. Normally identified by the nut having a groove cut
across the corners of the nuts. Other is right hand identified by NOT having the groove on!

One if left handed but I can't remember which, you should be able to see which way the thread goes.
It's been known to require up to 500lbft to undo these nuts. We just took them down to a local garage and got them to use their air impact
wrench on them (for free). We tried using a 24in breaker bar to no avail. You'll need a 41mm socket too.
God knows why they need to be quite that tight but hey. The nuts on the cortina front hubs came off with literally no effort.
