Engine and seat height

Not done much today but i made a seat out of flattened cardboard and lowered the engine and box into place.
My crappy seat is 3" above where the floor would be and the top of the engine is 9.5" above the top chassis rails. Is this ok? The sump is currently 2" below the chassis and i cant shorten it because it is level with the bellhousing.

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

Iv managed to liower it now into what looks like a more normal position, although it would be good to know roughly the 'normal' engine height so i can work out how big my bulge will be
