brakes - how well will this setup work?
Rather than hijacking the other brake thread du jour, I thought I'd start my own.
Here's what I have:
- Wilwood powerlites on the front with solid discs (mmm light weight and sexy)
- Sierra 4x4 stuff at the back
- Sierra dual circuit master cylinder (becuase a balance bar seems to be fiddly and unnecessary for a road car)
- Wilwood proportioning valve to tune down the rear end (which I expect to be completely overbraked)
How well is this setup likely to work? My worries are around the big brakes on the rear end. Will the proportioning valve do a good enough job to give
me decent brake balance? (I'm considering switching to standard Sierra or Willwoods at the back end anyway so that I can squeeze on 13"
wheels. )

I'd just fit them and try it out when built, an inline bias valve is easy to fit later

I've got 4X4 rear disc and standard vented front discs on my car, with no proportioning valve and it passed the SVA fine.

Personally I would replace the rears with another pair of Powerlites with integral handbrake.
No doubt the proportioning valve will give a better balance but the Wilwoods are lighter and more attractive too.

If you want to use valve use a Fiat valve from Brakes Int
Fiat Uno75 HRV1013 £15.46
or Strada/Ritmo 75 HRV1012 £11.83

Thanks all.
Razman - yeah the Wilwoods are nice but it's £200 versus free Sierra stuff that I have sitting in my garage!
Britishtrident - I've already got an adjustable Wilwood valve. The uno one does the same job presumably, but is not adjustable?
Will the Sierra master cylinder work OK with this setup to give me decent feel and performance?
