Alternative Drive Shaft help needed

I've been looking for some second hand cut and shut drive shafts from either Luego or Aries (Stuart Taylor) for a while now.

Suddenly had an idea, ford have for a long time re-used parts through out their range. Just wondering if anyone knew where i could find out information about drive shafts, eg what size are on a fiesta or escort? Just wondering if i could use one of those shafts from a scrap yard instead of buying one at silly money.

Can anyone help???

STM / Aries will do them for 66 quid. Except i've got to strip the shaft and that potentially adds 80 quid per shaft for new CV joint housings (only place that i believe does the push on drive shaft metal housings is ford).

Hence, i was thinking is something like an escort uses the same splines as the sierra, its got a short and long shaft, the short shaft may be ideal

Old Luego shortened my drive shafts without them being dismantled .IIRC they cost me £20.00 to be done. If you have a pair it might be worth getting in touch with Matt at Casarva , his trading name on ebay . He did a lot of the welding at Luego and may be able to help .
