Torque setting for bolt on shafts

Hi,

Can anyone tell me the torque values for the bolt on dive shafts, CV joint bolts and main nut at the wheel end.

A driveshaft coming loose would be excedingly bad... so I'd do them FT (ie swing on the breaker bar until your eyes cross)!!!

But the Haynes manual shows the hub nuts as

1) Saloon, Hatchback and Estate models
2) P100 models

1) 310-350 Nm, 229-258 lb/ft
2) 390-450 Nm, 288-332 lb/ft

For some reason my pdf of the manual doesn't show the chapter which describes the driveshafts!!!!

Mine shows them as been a lot less than that 185 - 214 lbf ft or 250 - 290 NM. Unfortunately its an early book so only covers push in shafts.

Anyone else have an idea of the torque setting for the CV joint bolts?

43 Nm

I ditched the nasty Torx bolts and used 12.9 capheads with loctite and a spring washer.

The hub nut is 250Nm by the way. My torque wrench doesn't go up to that so I got the garage to do it.
