Damaged Seat
chris-p-duck - 1/3/09 at 07:05 PM

Hi all,

I was working away happily in the garage yesterday when there was an almighty clatter. As I glanced up I saw some old curtain poles falling from the rafters. With mongoose like reactions I launched myself over the car and caught one but failed to stop the other.

Is there a point to this story I hear you sigh. Well 'fortunately' my car managed to avoid the lovely pole being damaged unfortunately this put a small rip into the outer edge of the seat. I was not a happy bunny.

Anyway - onto the reason for this post - does anyone know of any good products that can mend small rips in vinyl? I have had a look on eBay and there seems to be some stuff for about a tenner but am not sure if they will be any good. Anyone got any hints of tips, dos and donts?

Please help........

Thanks

Chris

Always use the stuff designed for the job, vinylweld is a glue - I cannot remember for the life of me what it is for

Cut a small bit of vinyl from under the seat, back up the tear and apply goosefat or that other stuff I mentioned

That's no mean feat... I was attacked by a mongoose a couple of months ago (I'm not joking) and those things are sodding fast!

If I hadn't batted it away with my hand I'd have been in trouble!

Cheers,
James
