cheap seats for locost
brianm - 8/5/03 at 11:22 PM

Called in at a scrappy on my way back from Stoneliegh, looking for inspiration and possible locost bits. Spent a while looking for seats narrow enough for a book chassis - the only car ones I could find where in a Reliant Robin. Then I found some coach seats in the back of an artic trailer. The fabric pattern was not exactly ideal, but they were comfortable and exactly the right width. They were built in pairs, but could be easily separated leaving a seat with a tubular steel frame and a plywood base. Anyone have any comments on using these seats, or has anyone actually used them?

Try Series II & III Landrover centre seats -- new covers are easily available

Its only my opinion but I wouldnt compromise on seats, seat belts/harness, and crash hat.

Well as long as your strapped in with your harness, the seat will just keep you comfy!

The rear seats from people carriers look a good proposition, usually 3 per vehicle. Very narrow, easily detachable.

I have written off 3 Renault Espace's this week, so the supply looks good

Wasn't that a bit clumsy of you Mark?

Clumsy CLUMSY, I can total 15 cars a week if I try hard enough! I particularly like BERing Renaults, gives me a warm feeling inside

can't use bus seats, make me fall asleep (not good while driving) and people might flag you down for a lift into town!

And you'll have to pay before you can get in.

Bedford Midi seats also fit, probably the same as Rascal ones.
