Mountney Steering Wheel Boss Rings

Stupid question, but what are the two loose rings for that come with a mountney sierra boss?

I have a Mountney boss and it to came with two bosses rather than rings. Is that what you meant? They bolt together and the bottom one (thats the one without the drilling for the wheel fixing nuts and bolts) has three holes in it for the horn ring. Its an ugly looking bit of kit so I have skimmed mine down in the lathe to make it look far better.

Found my boss whilst clearing the garage today, it seems that the rings are some thing to do with the horn push, you use different rings dependent on what car they are fitting to.

Doesnt look like I need them for my sierra column though.
