W7DE car launch - GTS
dozracing - 29/1/05 at 09:54 AM

Hi all,

Discreetly i put up some sketchy details of our new model on the website a few weeks ago.

Now we started selling them already, cool!

It comes off the back of the constant requests to do wide bodywork for the +4 builders. As you all probably know its something i've been tempted to do for a long time, primarily to stop the "big boys" whining.

Well it seemed such a small step after the body to do a wide chassis that accepts all the wide suspension parts that i have been special making for the McSorleys.

So now we have the so called W7DE, spells wide, and means its a wide 7 with de dion rear suspension.

Us larger boys now have an extra 4" in the cockpit to play with, and who would complain about an extra 4" nudge nudge wink wink....

All you McSorleys now have an option of nearly off the shelf bodywork. Website will soon be updated so you can order online.

Kind regards,

Darren

Hi Dave,

I have the template for the glass, i can call my glass man in a cut one as soon as you/me are ready.

Kind regards.

Darren

how much do you want for a screen only as i have some westfield pillars
cheers dave

Where r u dave?

The big issue is sending it to you, as the couriers don't insure glass.

The glass itself would be £55.

Kind regards,

Darren

Darren, what is the height of your chassis? (the McSorley 7+4 is the standard 13" and the 7+442 is 15". I want to see if the side panels will fit mine own chassis.

Nice one on the bodywork Darren.

Cheers,
James

There is a height option! 13" ones from the Locost GTS will fit or there is to be 14" versions for the W7DE.

Dave, sure we can meet at one of the shows with one. Remind me closer to the time and i'll get something sorted out for you.

Kind regards,

Darren

James,

I have that sample for you in the car. Had it ever since Christmas actually.

We are able to do your bodywork pretty quickly at the mo.

Kind regards,

Darren

Nice one doz, just got the newsletter. I will start putting the pennies aside for some wide bodywork.

Hi Darren,

Thanks for that- apologies for the delay in getting back to you. Got rather engrossed in the suspension mods I mentioned over the phone to you and put the bodywork off for a bit.

Anyway, suspension correct now so back to the bodywork!

Not sure what time you're 'open' till today so will try tomorrow.

Cheers,
James

James,

I'm open all hours!

Mike, if you desperately needed a 15" tall side panel we could accomodate this for a little extra cost. Been chatting with my GRP guy and there is a way we could modify the tooling to allow us to make a taller side.

Kind regards,

Darren

Correct answer! My chassis is 1" taller than book, so 14". Excellent, looks like my body work problems are solved.
