GTS Scuttle/Bonnet Height
I would like to buy the GTS grp but before I do could someone please tell me the height of these above the top chassis rail please?
I know that the new kit is .75" taller but what is that in real terms?
I've gotta have an ali bonnet as it is (non-standard chassis) and I want to know what holes it's likely to need when attached to a GTS
nosecone/scuttle!
Thanks,
James

James,
I'll pull it out later today and stick a tape across it.

Careful Darren, those tapes can be a bit sharp .
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

10 inches above chassis rail is too high for most if not all Locost nosecones and bonnets, well the ones i have measured anyway.
Bet it's typical bloke thing too over sizing measurements......erm

11" at scuttle.
8" at nose cone.
You'll need some sump mods, and some sump hanging out below.
Kind regards,
Darren

Darren,
I assume this is for your new higher line bodywork?
Have you got dimensions for the standard/lowline stuff that i've ordered? Ony i hope to trial fit the engine at the end of the week..
cheers,
Ned.

Bonnet bulge time James, is your engine far enough back not to cause problems with the nosecone? Mandy that's why women can't park because
men have been telling them that this |----------------------------------------------------| is nine inches, or so my wife says
yours, Pete

Thanks Darren!
I've already taken 1" out of the sump and it's .75" below the chassis. After Conrod ripped the bottom out of his I
don't dare make it any lower!
So guess it's power bulge time. That's a shame as with my temporary fit 32/36 carb I'm going to have problems with having both the
bulge and the air filter.
Bloody tall pintos!
Darren, do you do a power bulge to match your body work?
Atb,
James

woo, that's an interesting tidbit.
I expect we're going to need a bulge too, with our v8 having a ginormous plenum chamber on top and all
